Armed Forces launch operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan


ISLAMABAD: The Armed Forces of Pakistan on Sunday announce to initiate formal against the militants residing in North Waziristan on the advice of government, ARY News reported.
According to Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Armed forces of Pakistan have said started a formal operation against foreign and local terrorists who are hiding in sanctuaries in North Wazirastan Agency on the directions of the Government.
The operation has been named ‘Zarb-e-Azb’, with the motive to eliminate the terrorists regardless of hue and color, along with their sanctuaries for which armed forces of Pakistan will not hesitate in rendering any sacrifice for the motherland, ISPR press release revealed.
With the support of the entire nation, and in coordination with other state institutions and Law Enforcement Agencies, these enemies of the state will be denied space anywhere across the country, added ISPR release.
It further stated that using North Waziristan as a base, these terrorists had waged a war against the state of Pakistan and had been disrupting our national life in all its dimensions, stunting our economic growth and causing enormous loss of life and property.

Air Strikes

Earlier today morning, more than eighty terrorists including Abu Abdur Rehman Almani the planner of terrorists attack on Karachi airport killed in air strikes conducted by Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
According to ISPR, the strikes were carried out in Datta Khel Tehsil and Degan area and most of the terrorist killed were Uzbek. An ammunition dump was also destroyed.
Those targeted strikes were carried out after confirmed reports regarding presence of foreign and local terrorists in these hideouts, who were linked to planning of Karachi airport attack.

Mastermind of Karachi airport attack ‘killed’ in NWA air strikes


MIRANSHAH: A key terrorist and mastermind of Karachi airport attack, Abu Abdul Rehman Almani, is reportedly killed in air strikes of security forces launched in North Waziristan areas in early morning today, ARY News reported Sunday.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets had bombed hideouts of terrorists in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) today, killing more than 50 militants. Some of the dead terrorists were said to be involved in Karachi airport attack on June 8.
Military sources have said that Almani, an alleged mastermind of Karachi airport attack, had been killed in the air offensive of security forces earlier in the day.
Those killed in the air strikes mostly belonged to Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. Militants of East Turkmenistan Islamic Movement were also among the dead.
Regarding the early morning air strikes, the spokesperson of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), military’s public affairs wings, said the bombings were targeted at terrorists who were involved in planning of Jinnah International Airport Karachi attack.
